Leading building contractor brings three generations of quality and experience to each project.

In today's business world, family-owned companies often pass down their traditions from generation to generation. They can be as simple as sticking with a familiar product or dealing with a long-term customer. But when it comes to a leading building contractor like T.C. Braun Construction, their traditions include dedication, reliability and most of all, a hard work ethic.

For over 60 years, the Braun family's commitment to quality workmanship and customer service excellence has helped them build a solid reputation here in the Niagara Peninsula.

"Our company was built on a spirit of trust," says Travis C. Braun, the Owner and President of T.C. Braun Construction. "With my family, a handshake is a handshake. You can feel a sense of comfort knowing we're on the job."

Located in St. Catharines, T.C. Braun Construction is a full-service building contractor specializing in residential and commercial construction. Their wide variety of services includes everything from renovations, additions and design / build services to general contracting and light demolition. Travis takes great pride in being a one-stop-shop for homeowners, property and building managers, investors and real estate agents.

"We have the ability to tailor our services and meet all our customers' needs," he explains. "Some companies may limit themselves to one specific area. But at T.C. Braun Construction, our team's range of talent and experience allow us to offer a complete package to our customers."

From Generation To Generation

The Braun tradition of quality originally began back in the 1940s when brothers John and Abe Braun launched their own residential homebuilding firm - Braun Construction - which built dozens of custom homes across the peninsula. Over the years, John's son Wally also spent many a summer working at Braun Construction before starting his own company in 1973. The firm would eventually branch out into commercial building projects.

Like his father Wally before him, Travis began to work for the family business as a teenager on weekends and summer vacations, learning the tools of the building trade. By the time he finished school, however, Travis wanted to focus more on the residential additions and renovations market so he decided to start up his own company - T.C. Braun Construction - in 2007. His father continues to operate Braun Construction as a separate firm. However, the two of them often work together on various residential and commercial projects.

According to Travis, starting his own business and working with his father's company at the same time provides the best of both worlds.

"Being set up like this allows us to offer a better service to a wider range of clientele," he says. "It also gives me a great opportunity to work with and learn from a well-respected and knowledgeable businessman. That type of schooling is priceless."

Experience You Can Trust

Over the years, T.C. Braun Construction has worked on a wide variety of residential building projects. Travis' company also provides a complete range of homebuilding services - everything from site selection and approvals to design, construction and project management.

"We enjoy making life easy for our customers," he explains. "Some people find it difficult managing several projects as once. With our company, you have only one contact to handle all your project, service and warranty concerns."

When it comes to home renovations, Travis and his team can tackle garages, finished basements, decks and fences, door and window replacement, bathrooms and kitchens, concrete patios and sidewalks - even special carpentry work. Travis provides free estimates before his team starts on any project. Fully licensed and insured, T.C. Braun Construction offers written warranties for all work performed.

According to Travis, his team works on each homebuilding project as if it was their very own.

"A home is a long-term investment," he says. "So we know how important it is to bring in quality tradespeople, suppliers and materials, and make sure our clients have a home they can be proud of for years to come."

T.C. Braun Construction has always been committed to delivering the best in customer satisfaction. That begins from the very first phone call to the moment the last finishing touch has been made.

"One of the things that set us apart from the competition is our strong attention to detail," Travis says. "We put a lot of care into everything we do. I always make sure I am personally involved in each job - no matter what the size."

Building for Business

T.C. Braun Construction has many strong suits. But one of their biggest advantages is their flexibility - particularly when it comes to commercial construction. Their commercial services include rough framing, storefront and facade renovations, retail office construction and renovations, site supervision and commercial hardware installation.

"We can handle any sized project from changing a light bulb to renovating a high rise," Travis says.

Travis works as a subcontractor with his father's company on several major commercial projects. Over the years, he's worked on several buildings including the Sheraton Foxhead, the Sheraton Fallsview and the Hilton Niagara in Niagara Falls, and The Prince of Wales Hotel and The Pillar and Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake. These days, however, Travis prefers to focus on smaller projects such as store fronts and commercial buildouts.

"We service various companies throughout Niagara and beyond," he says. "Everything from golf clubs and wineries to restaurants and call centres."

According to Travis, their firm can offer business owners a number of benefits. "We won't just enhance your building's appearance," he says. "We'll increase the value of your property, help you promote your business, and act as a morale booster for your employees."

At T.C Braun Construction, providing excellent customer service is just as important as delivering high quality workmanship with their assignments. Their company has a long line of satisfied customers - and over 75% of their projects come through referrals.

"When we're dealing with our customers, we want to build a long-lasting relationship," Travis says. "Part of building that relationship is making sure we have the right tools and people for the job. Then we can get the job done right and our customers can enjoy a worry and hassle-free experience."

Looking Ahead

Travis is a firm believer in setting a strong example in the community when it comes to his company. He is currently active in the Niagara business community through his memberships with the St. Catharines-Thorold Chamber of Commerce and the West St. Catharines Business Association. Travis is also heavily involved in racing at the Merrittville and Humberstone Speedways, sponsoring a number of race cars and go-carts.

But Travis is just as committed when it comes to improving his business. Despite the ongoing success of T.C. Braun Construction, he has no plans to rest on his laurels.

"We hope to expand our company by adding more employees and offering sub-contracting services to larger general contractors and suppliers," Travis says of the future. "We're also looking forward to getting more into property and building renovation and become a one-stop-shop for property building managers. It's an exciting time for us."

From their innovative building techniques to their sense of pride and dedication in a job well done, the professionals at T.C. Braun Construction are looking forward to serving all their customers' building needs for years to come.
